Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring Level 1 trauma/surgical experience and current KY or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of an adult Level 1 trauma hospital
• Primary population includes adults with trauma and surgical needs
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• Progressive Care experience required
• Permanent staff must be gone at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates with permanent residence within 100 miles are not accepted
• All requested time off must be disclosed during the initial application process
• Annual and orientation modules must be completed as assigned
• Anticipate floating and caring for a varied adult trauma and surgical patient caseload

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty is required
• Level 1 trauma and surgical unit experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• No licensure hits accepted for Kentucky
• References from 2 recent supervisors within the last 3 years
