Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU night shift position requiring at least one year of ICU experience and an active Oklahoma or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Trauma ICU unit within a hospital setting
- Delivers care to patients with complex trauma and health issues
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- Patient population consists of trauma cases requiring intensive monitoring
- Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting physiological data, administering medications and IVs, assisting with minor procedures, and coordinating patient care
- Expected to interact with patients' families regarding care plans and discharge procedures
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
- Applicants must be able to maintain good working relationships with team members
- Return travelers may only extend once (for a total of 26 weeks) and must wait six months after completing an assignment before reapplying
Requirements
- Active OK or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of one year of ICU nursing experience is required
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients
- Applicants must reside outside of a 50-mile radius from the facility
