Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a day shift assignment requiring ARRT, BLS, ACLS, and EPIC experience with vascular and neuro interventional procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work in a vascular interventional radiology department within a Heart & Vascular Institute setting
- Perform procedures including peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, arterial and venous embolization, venous thrombectomy, and dialysis access
- Neuro interventional procedures experience is preferred
- 4 day work week; day shifts from 7:30AM to 5:00PM
- Experience with EPIC EMR is required
- Patient population includes those requiring invasive cardiology or invasive radiology studies
- No local candidates accepted; must live at least 50 miles from facility
- Assist physicians with all interventional radiology procedures and provide patient care throughout diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
- Administer contrast material and respond appropriately to hypersensitivity reactions
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate intra-procedural medication doses
- Assist in instructing new staff as necessary
- Role includes peripheral vascular, central line, embolization, thrombectomy, dialysis, and neuro interventions such as kyphoplasty
- Contribute to inventory management and provision of supplies for procedures
- Team environment with direct supervision by physician and collaboration with procedural nurses
- Holiday shift expectations may apply based on department needs
- RTO (time off) is limited to 7 days during a 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on assignment more than one year and may be required to take a 6-month break before returning
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a related field or certificate in Radiologic Technology required
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
- Active IEMA Radiography License for Illinois and ARRT certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant radiologic technology experience in a procedural or hospital setting
- Demonstrated experience with interventional radiology procedures, including vascular and neuro preferred
- Proficiency in EPIC charting is required
- Manual dexterity and ability to work in sterile fields required
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- License required if applicable
