Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Medical/Surgical Orthopedics position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based orthopedic medical-surgical unit
• Cares for orthopedic and general med/surg patient populations
• Night shift schedule from 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Role may require floating to various inpatient units including Med-Surg, Oncology, Orthopedics, Advanced Care, and ICUs
• Uses Epic EMR charting system; experience required
• Provide direct patient care, conduct assessments, develop and modify care plans, and document nursing interventions
• Participate in patient and employee safety initiatives and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
• RTO (time off) requests must not exceed 7 days per 13 week contract
• Local candidates within a 50 mile radius are not accepted
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment for more than one year without a six-month break
• Must complete required compliance tasks and drug screen within specified deadlines prior to start
• No travel partners are accepted for this assignment

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or temporary license accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year relevant nursing experience
• Documented Level 1 Trauma experience at a facility listed on candidate profile
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
• Demonstrated Epic charting experience
