Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in both CT and X-ray to join an acute care imaging team for night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care imaging department with CT and X-ray modalities
• Night shifts Monday through Thursday, 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 10-hour shifts
• Department equipped with 1 Siemens CT scanner, 2 Philips X-ray rooms, 1 portable X-ray, 1 ultrasound, and 1 Dexa unit
• Average caseload includes 5-10 CT scans and 10-15 X-rays per day, plus some ultrasound and portable studies
• Patient mix includes ER, inpatient, and outpatient exams with trauma and stroke protocol cases
• No OR or fluoroscopy cases required
• Use of Epic EMR and McKesson/Change Healthcare PACS, experience preferred
• Potential to float or provide coverage for other areas within the imaging department, rarely at a nearby hospital, disclosed during interview
• No call or standby required
• Department provides 1-3 days of orientation, extended as needed
• Main responsibilities include performing general CT and X-ray imaging, including portable studies, for ER, inpatients, and outpatients
• Must be comfortable working independently during night shifts as single staff
• Support from manager and lead technologist, with educator to assist onboarding
• Point-of-care testing for creatinine may be required and training will be provided
• No scrub color requirement for dress code
• Holiday and weekend requirements are minimal but may occur if posted
• Time off (RTO) must be disclosed during interview
• 50-mile radius rule: no local candidates within 50 miles of the facility
• Permanent employees must have been separated from facility for at least one year before being considered for travel assignments

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in both CT and X-ray modalities
• Active ARRT registry in the appropriate modality required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with Siemens CT and Philips X-ray equipment preferred
• Comfort with initiating IVs for contrast in outpatients and willingness to train for point-of-care creatinine testing
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the past 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the past 3 years
• Driver’s license and active state license required at time of consideration
