Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring night shifts, EPIC proficiency, and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac and multisystem conditions
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating to other qualified units and campuses as needed
• Utilizes EPIC EMR; minimum one year of experience required
• Performs specialized procedures including vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drug therapy, thrombolytic therapy, defibrillation/cardioversion, thoracentesis, cardiac telemetry monitoring, EKG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring
• Manage and monitor complex cardiac telemetry patients, administering advanced therapies as needed
• Must be willing to float to similar units based on hospital needs and demonstrate required competencies
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced cardiac environment
• Holiday coverage may be required as determined by unit needs
• Two professional references are required for consideration

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in cardiac telemetry or related field
• At least 1 year of direct EPIC charting experience required
• Experience with adult and geriatric cardiac patient populations
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, MI, unstable angina, coronary artery disease, and those receiving IV antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation
• First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
• Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
