Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an OK or compact RN license and current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Care for a diverse population of patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Day shift schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week
• Level 1 Labor & Delivery experience is required
• Patient assignments involve monitoring and documenting physiological data, administering medications, and assisting with minor diagnostic procedures
• No local candidates accepted; must live outside a 50-mile radius
• Assume responsibility for assigned group of patients, interacting with families and supporting discharge planning
• Delegation of tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required per scheduling needs
• Must be able to maintain good working relationships and communicate effectively with staff and patients
• Compliance with hospital dress code is required

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP, Advance Provider or Instructor level) from AHA
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate required
• Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing required
• Minimum of one year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required; 2-5 years preferred
• Ability to respond effectively to diverse cultural and language needs of patients
