Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with recent MS/Tele experience and required certifications for variable day or night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient population includes med/surg and telemetry cases, with potential oncology patients
• Shifts are 12 hours and may rotate between days (7am-7:30pm) and nights (7pm-7:30am) based on operational needs
• Traveler may be assigned variable shifts as needed
• Oncology/chemotherapy administration training provided to qualified candidates interested in this area
• Use of Qualivis – Lotus system for submitting hours
• Expected to work at least every other holiday
• Assessments and orientation include ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety
• Assignments at this health system not to exceed 18 consecutive months; a six-month waiting period is required before return assignments
• Team will provide training for chemotherapy administration to qualified RNs
• Dress code and scrub color not specified; follow hospital guidelines
• No information provided regarding acceptance of first-time travelers

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• At least 18 months of permanent experience in Med/Surg Tele prior to travel assignments
• At least 18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required (travel experience will be accepted)
• One year of recent oncology/chemotherapy administration experience preferred but not required
• Must complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate testing during orientation with acceptable scores
