Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Neuro ICU RN with a valid MD or compact license and at least two years of neuro critical care experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a Neuro Critical Care Unit (Neuro ICU) at a large hospital
- Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and post-operative neurosurgical cases
- Rotating 12-hour shifts (7AM/7PM) with both day and night requirements
- Expectation to work 3 out of every 6 weekends
- On-call responsibilities required 2 times per 6-week schedule
- Floating as needed to units with similar skill sets including ICU and IMC
- Uses Epic as the electronic medical record system
- Responsible for monitoring and caring for neurologically complex and critically ill patients
- Will participate in specialized post-operative neurosurgical care and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams
- Orientation provided on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Locals accepted at the same rate except for certain facilities with radius restrictions
Requirements
- Active RN license in Maryland or a compact state
- Current BLS certification
- At least two years of neuro critical care nursing experience
- Experience in facilities with at least 500 beds
- Epic EMR experience required
- ACLS, Critical Care Certification, and trauma course are preferred
