Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 16-week rotating day/night shift assignment requiring recent large teaching hospital and Epic experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Emergency Department of a large, teaching hospital setting
- Care for a diverse emergency patient population
- 16-week contract with 12-hour rotating day and night shifts
- Required to work a minimum of every other weekend
- Schedule may be adjusted to meet unit and patient needs
- No block scheduling permitted
- Use of Epic EMR system is required with recent experience needed
- Bi-weekly orientation sessions available on Mondays
- Reliable personal transportation is recommended, as public transportation is not available in the area
- Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
- Flexible and adaptable work ethic required due to schedule changes
- This contract is to provide coverage for a leave of absence
- Complete and detailed work history is necessary for consideration
- Holiday and weekend shifts may be required as scheduled
Requirements
- Active VT or compact RN license required, or ability to apply within 24 hours of offer
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ED RN experience
- Prior travel RN experience required unless extensive experience at large (500+ bed) teaching hospitals and multiple ERs
- Large, teaching hospital experience required
- Current certifications in AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (TNCC proof required prior to start)
- Epic charting experience required within the past 2 years
- Preferred certifications: CEN, ENPC, MOAB, ProAct, or other de-escalation training
- Must provide explanations for employment gaps over 90 days
