Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab RN with a current NY license and strong Cath/Peripheral procedure skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Cardiac Catheterization Lab environment
• Care for both acute inpatient and elective outpatient populations
• Interdisciplinary team includes physicians, clinical nurses, radiology technologists, and cardiovascular technologists
• Shifts are either 4x10s or 5x8s, selected at the time of offer
• Weekend work required every four weeks
• On-call required 1-2 nights per week as needed
• Staff available 24/7 for emergency procedures during off hours, weekends, and holidays
• Patient recovery to Phase I included in duties
• Facility transitioning to Epic EMR; Epic experience is preferred
• Key responsibilities include patient positioning, continuous hemodynamic assessment, assisting with sedation and interventional procedures, IV/IC infusion and bolus, and patient recovery
• Must alert physician to changes in patient responses
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) will be accepted and must be noted at application
• Required to wear personal scrubs of any color (no designs or cartoons, no hoodies)
• 8-hour orientation is provided
• COVID vaccination is encouraged but not required
• Completion of Welle or CPI verbal de-escalation training is required for onboarding
• A 14-panel drug screen must be successfully completed within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Unit values reliability and a strong patient orientation
• Epic experience is beneficial as the facility is transitioning systems

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience required
• At least 2 years experience with cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures required
• Moderate sedation certification highly preferred
• Experience with cath and peripheral procedures, STEMI, and STEMI call required
• Proficiency with EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracing interpretation required
• Conscious sedation and IV experience required
• Electrophysiology (EP) experience highly preferred
• Must have own vehicle for transportation
• Submission requires permanent address matching driver's license or state ID; address will be validated
• Travelers from specified NY counties (Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, Washington) will not be considered
