Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) position requiring recent post-op cardiac surgery recovery experience and a compact or MD RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) within a hospital setting
- Care is provided for patients who have undergone cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, and complex procedures such as ventricular assist devices placement
- Unit consists of 18 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
- Shifts rotate between day and night (7A/7P) with options for 36 or 48 hour work weeks
- Responsibilities include recovery of post-operative cardiac and transplant patients in a high acuity environment
- Orientation is offered on the second and fourth Monday of each month
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate except for specific regional exclusions
- Scrub and dress code details to be provided during onboarding
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required, with ACLS preferred
- Experience in a dedicated open-heart ICU receiving patients directly from the OR is required
- Proficiency with vents, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires, pacemakers, vasoactive drips titration, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), and ECMO required
- Experience with facilities of 500+ bed count required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Critical Care Certification and trauma course preferred
