Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN to serve as Emergency Department Manager in a hospital setting, requiring an active CA RN license and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital
• Full-time Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm schedule
• 13-week travel assignment
• Blends hands-on clinical work with managerial and charge responsibilities
• High-acuity, fast-paced environment
• Provide direct patient care in the emergency department as needed
• Oversee staff performance, scheduling, and daily operations
• Coach and guide staff, provide performance feedback, and ensure competency
• Promote adherence to National Patient Safety Goals, including alarm management and infection prevention
• Must be able to supervise, delegate, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Paid hospital orientation is provided
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No specific radius rule for local candidates

Requirements

• Active California RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience
• Leadership or prior charge RN experience preferred
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Ability to stand and walk for extended shifts and to lift, push, or pull up to 35 lbs
• Strong clinical judgment and supervisory skills
