Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a short term acute care hospital position requiring 1-2 years of acute care experience and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Short term acute care hospital with 285 staffed beds
Position covers multiple hospital units including ICU, step down, oncology, medical, surgical, neuro/tele, and ortho
Day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Occasional weekend shifts required
No floating outside scope and no on-call required
EPIC charting system is used and EPIC experience is required for certain units
Patients seen for daily treatments across supported units
Duties include providing physical therapy interventions across a variety of acute care units
Scrub color requirement is pewter
First-time travelers are accepted for this position
No local candidates; applicants must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract and none permitted during orientation
Former permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
Free parking is provided on site
Travelers are eligible to work for up to 18 months before a 3-month break is required

Requirements

Valid state physical therapist license required; license must be active and applicable to assignment state at time of consideration
1-2 years of recent experience as a physical therapist in an acute care setting required
Current BLS certification required
Experience with EPIC EMR required for certain units
MO state license required if applying for MO; Pending IL license accepted if applying for IL
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) certification as required by assignment (if applicable)
