Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU Float Pool position requiring recent critical care experience and proficiency in telemetry for night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Position is in an ICU Float Pool at a Level I Trauma and teaching hospital
- Float to all critical care units within the facility as needed
- Night shifts (3x12 hours) from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, including every other weekend
- Tele monitoring required, with a proficiency test for dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Handles vented patients and performs IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation procedures
- Epic EMR system is used; experience preferred but not required
- Solid color scrubs required, with light blue scrubs provided on unit
- No on-call requirements
- Not open to first-time travelers; candidates must have at least two prior travel assignments
- Prior staff of the health system must have a separation of at least 18 months to be eligible
- RTO must be submitted prior to consideration and is not allowed during orientation week
- Epic charting will be used; training provided if needed
- Parking is available onsite for a fee or via offsite garage with shuttle service on weekdays
- Solid color scrubs are required; additional unit-provided options are available
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required at time of application
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; TNCC preferred
- Minimum 3 years of recent critical care (ICU) experience, including Level 1 Trauma Center experience within the last year
- Academic/teaching hospital experience required
- Must be proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Required skills include vents, IV start, telemetry, and conscious sedation; ICP and PA Line management preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster required without exceptions
- References must be from a direct supervisor
