Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Adult Oncology Infusion Clinic position, requiring at least one year of oncology infusion experience and specific chemotherapy certification.
Responsibilities
- Position based in an adult Oncology Infusion Clinic within a hospital setting
- Handles chemotherapy infusions, blood products, and related oncology medications for adult patients
- Works four 10-hour shifts per week (40 hours), with shifts possibly extending to evenings (up to 7 PM), weekends, or holidays
- No local candidates accepted; must live more than 50 miles from the facility
- Administers IV chemotherapy, PO and SC injections, and monitors patients during and after treatment
- Assists physicians during procedures and conscious sedation, and documents patient responses to interventions
- Educates patients and families on chemotherapy, side effects, and care plans, and coordinates follow-up treatment
- Expected to provide patient education, schedule follow-ups, and triage ongoing patient needs via phone
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed and collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team
- Scrub or dress code requirements will follow hospital policies
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Active RN license in Oklahoma or an eligible multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate and ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration required
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience, preferably in oncology infusion
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Basic computer competency and strong communication skills
