Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Chemo Certified for an infusion unit position requiring a CA RN license and recent chemotherapy experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an acute care hospital infusion unit
  • Primary responsibilities include 70% oncology-based therapy and 30% blood transfusion, IVIG, hydration, and iron infusions
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
  • Day shifts are 4x10 hours, Monday to Friday, with Wednesdays off
  • No weekend or on-call requirements
  • Floating required between like units and other facilities within the state
  • Uses the Epic EMR system; experience preferred
  • Provide infusion therapies and chemotherapy to oncology patients
  • Must wear royal blue scrubs
  • Free parking is provided for staff
  • Magnet-designated hospital environment
  • Returning former staff must wait at least 3 months before reapplying as travelers and cannot live within 50 miles of the facility
  • All requested time off must be submitted at time of application; additional requests post-offer may be denied

Requirements

  • Active California RN license required at time of application
  • Current BLS and chemo certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent infusion or oncology experience required; first-time travelers must have 2+ years of experience with chemo certification
  • SS card, driver’s license, COVID, and Flu records required for consideration
  • At least 2 supervisory references from the last three years in a comparable specialty/setting required
