Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in New York, requiring an active NY RN license and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 26-bed Intermediate Care (IMCU) step-down unit within a tertiary care hospital
• Adult acute care patient population with a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg assignments
• Patients include those requiring continuous telemetry, pulse-oximetry, airway management, titrated IV infusions, central lines, and BIPAP support
• 3x12 night shifts from 19:00 to 07:00, with every other weekend required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must be able to float within scope as needed
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility for consideration
• Provide specialized care for step-down level patients transitioning from higher acuity units
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced, evidence-based setting
• Must comply with specific navy and white scrub dress code
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand required
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, Rapid Response/Code participation, IV therapy, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
