Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and an active IL RN license for a Level 2 Trauma Center assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 30-bed Emergency Department within an acute care hospital setting
• Covers 27 medical beds and 3 ED psych beds
• Handles an average daily census of 120 patients (range 100-140)
• Level 2 Trauma and Level 2 Stroke Center with Chest Pain accreditation
• Full treatment capabilities for sexual assault survivors
• POD nursing assignment structure
• Evening and night 12-hour shifts available
• Uses Allscripts EMR system
• Function as part of the emergency response team in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
• Work within a Level 2 Trauma and Stroke Center with diverse patient needs
• Expect to care for adult, pediatric, and behavioral health patients
• Evening and night shifts are required with shift length of 12 hours

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS (American Heart Association)
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) certification required
