Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department position with strong pediatric experience and Epic proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting with both adult and pediatric patients
• Unit features 36 treatment rooms, 50 beds, and an average daily census of 70 with 160 visits per day
• Patient population includes all emergency chief complaints and diagnoses across the lifespan, from minor injuries to trauma, psychiatric, and complex medical cases
• Shifts are 12-hour nights from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call requirement
• Floating may be required to ICU and within the ED for helping hands or as a patient sitter
• Specialized procedures performed include conscious sedation, trauma/stroke/cath lab activation, and SANE consultation
• Uses Epic for documentation and Omnicell for medication management
• Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages with a wide range of diagnoses
• Team nursing approach is utilized, including assisting in other units as needed
• Unit orientation consists of 36 hours over one week including class and clinical time
• Scrubs may be any color
• Local travelers within 50 miles are accepted at a different rate
• Certain background or license concerns must be approved prior to offer

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI (AHA or Red Cross accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
• Experience with pediatric patients is highly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in triage, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and general ED skills
• Professional references required for consideration
• Travelers who have previously worked at any SolutionHealth facility are not eligible
• First time travelers are not accepted
