Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for acute care with NICU/PEDS inpatient experience and EPIC charting proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an acute care therapy department with a focus on inpatient NICU and pediatric patients
  • Day shift: 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday; specific hours to be determined
  • EPIC is the electronic medical record used and experience is required
  • Level 1 trauma environment
  • No floating or weekend assignment noted
  • Position conducts patient evaluations, designs and implements care plans, and supervises support personnel per regulatory guidelines
  • Responsible for patient/family education as well as documentation in compliance with clinical and organizational standards
  • May supervise PTAs and rehabilitation technicians
  • Role involves regular collaboration with the medical team regarding patient status and discharge planning
  • RTO (requested time off) must not exceed 7 days during a 13-week contract
  • Not open to local candidates within a 50-mile radius
  • Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment
  • Returning travelers may not remain on assignment at this facility for more than 1 year consecutively and require a 6-month break before returning
  • Scrubs or professional attire may be required in accordance with department policy

Requirements

  • Current Illinois Physical Therapist (PT) license required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • At least one year of relevant physical therapy experience in an acute care setting
  • Experience in inpatient NICU and pediatric care required
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy required
  • Proficiency in EPIC charting required
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
