Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Cath Lab Holding position requiring CA RN license, PALS certification, and at least one year of cardiac recovery experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Cath Lab Holding unit in a hospital setting
• Care involves pre- and post-procedure cardiac and vascular patients, including those with pacemakers, TAVR, Watchman, Mitral Clip, Tri Clip, TEVAR, EVAR, and pediatric cardiac interventions
• Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Work schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts with variable start times (6:00-18:30, 8:00-20:30, 9:00-21:30)
• Weekend requirement is 1 weekend of Saturday and Sunday (7am-7pm)
• Utilizes Omnicell for medication management and EPIC for documentation
• Communication system used is SBAR
• Responsibilities include recovery and monitoring of cardiac and vascular procedure patients, including advanced interventions and device placements
• Must follow isolation precautions and use appropriate PPE as needed
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Must adhere to all hospital protocols including use of rapid response and code teams
• Candidates living within 50 miles are considered locals and offered local pay rates

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Minimum of 1 year of recent cardiac recovery or cath lab nursing experience
• Proficient skills in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, code response, and care of devices such as pacemakers
• Experience with pre- and post-cardiac cath care, sheath removal, arterial lines, TR band, TAVR, blood product administration, and sedation monitoring
• Competence in central and peripheral line management, phlebotomy, PICC lines, IV initiation and maintenance
• Experience with procedural sedation, airway management, and oxygen therapy
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR required
