Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a pediatric acute care setting with inpatient NICU/PEDS experience and Illinois OT license required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an acute care inpatient therapy setting with a focus on pediatric and NICU populations
  • Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
  • Patient population includes newborns and children requiring specialized OT care
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • This is a 13-week contract position
  • Evaluate and treat pediatric patients with a focus on acute care interventions
  • Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary medical teams throughout the rehabilitation process
  • Provide education and family training as needed
  • Supervise COTAs and rehabilitation technicians as required
  • Perform standardized outcome measurements and adapt care plans based on patient needs
  • Document all care in accordance with department and regulatory standards
  • Not eligible for first-time travelers
  • Max 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract
  • Returning employees may not exceed 1 year of continuous assignment and must take a 6-month break before returning
  • Scrub or dress code details not specified; confirm with recruiter prior to assignment

Requirements

  • Current Illinois Occupational Therapy (OT) license required, if applicable
  • Current BLS certification from AHA required
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in an acute care setting
  • Inpatient NICU or pediatric experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Level 1 trauma experience required
  • Applicants must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
