Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position with rotating day/night shifts and at least 2 years of L&D experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) hospital unit with a Level II Special Care Nursery
• Patient population includes antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum mothers as well as newborns
• Care for triage, high-risk, induction, C-section, and post-partum pre-eclampsia patients
• Unit features 14 LDRP rooms, 9 overflow beds, 2 triage beds, 2 antenatal testing bays, 2 ORs, 2 PACU bays, and a 9-bed Special Care Nursery
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Triage 1:4, Early labor/induction 1:2, Active labor 1:1, C-section 1:1, Postpartum 1:4
• Rotating schedule of day (7:00-19:30) and night (19:00-7:30) 12-hour shifts, with rotation every three weeks; straight nights may be considered
• Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled are required
• Floating may be required within Labor & Delivery and related specialty units
• No on-call responsibilities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Responsibilities include comprehensive maternal and neonatal care throughout birth, triage, surgical intervention, and postpartum recovery
• Must wear navy blue scrubs
• Team provides care to both mothers and newborns in a collaborative environment
• Staff may care for overflow patients including post-partum C-section, antepartum, NAS, and bili babies

Requirements

• Active MD state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• ACLS, STABLE, FHM, and AWHONN certifications preferred
