Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg unit, requiring a NM or compact RN license and two years of specialty experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Med-Surg unit
- Care for a diverse adult medical-surgical patient population
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, three shifts per week
- Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required
- EPIC charting is used; on-site training available
- Responsible for providing direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
- Med-surg RNs may float as necessary to meet patient care needs within a 20-mile radius
- Supervise LPNs and assistive personnel as assigned
- Previous staff employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- Completion of population-specific education and competency testing per unit standards is required during orientation
- Scrub or dress code policies will be provided during orientation
Requirements
- Active New Mexico or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification from AHA, American Health and Safety, or Red Cross
- Minimum two years of recent Med-Surg RN experience required
- At least one prior 13-week travel nursing assignment required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
