Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg unit, requiring a NM or compact RN license and two years of specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med-Surg unit
• Care for a diverse adult medical-surgical patient population
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, three shifts per week
• Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required
• EPIC charting is used; on-site training available
• Responsible for providing direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
• Med-surg RNs may float as necessary to meet patient care needs within a 20-mile radius
• Supervise LPNs and assistive personnel as assigned
• Previous staff employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Completion of population-specific education and competency testing per unit standards is required during orientation
• Scrub or dress code policies will be provided during orientation

Requirements

• Active New Mexico or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from AHA, American Health and Safety, or Red Cross
• Minimum two years of recent Med-Surg RN experience required
• At least one prior 13-week travel nursing assignment required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
