Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with strong neuro experience and a current VA or compact license in hand.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital ICU caring for diverse patient populations including neuro, respiratory failure, trauma, and post-surgical cases
• Neuro patient population includes post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:3
• Required night shifts with options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour schedules, including weeknights, every other weekend, and holidays within contract
• Floating required to Stepdown Unit and potentially to ED/MedSurg to care for ICU holds
• Uses Epic EMR with proficiency required
• Care for critically ill patients with neurological, respiratory, renal, trauma, sepsis/MODS, and cardiac conditions
• Must be willing and able to float between ICU, Stepdown, and ED/MedSurg as needed
• Holiday and every other weekend rotation required
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Dress code and specific orientation details will be provided pre-assignment

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum strong neuro experience including post-neurosurgical, EVD, stroke, vents, IV drip titration, telemetry, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia, and emergency management
• Three years of critical care experience preferred, but strong candidates with less will be considered
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• No license or background hits permitted
• Must provide a driver's license for address verification demonstrating residence more than 50 miles from the facility
