Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Cardiac IMC/Telemetry position caring for high acuity adult patients with a focus on dysrhythmia management.
Responsibilities
- Work in an adult inpatient intermediate care and telemetry unit in a large teaching hospital
- Primarily treats medical cardiac patients requiring continuous vital sign and advanced monitoring
- Unit supports IMC level care including ventilator management, tracheostomy care, arterial line maintenance, and titrating infusions such as nitroglycerin, insulin, and heparin
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:3 for IMC at all times, 1:4 for telemetry during AM, and 1:5 for telemetry during PM
- Night shifts are 12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Responsibilities include caring for high acuity cardiac patients and performing advanced monitoring and interventions
- Team provides care to a diverse adult cardiac population in an academic teaching environment
- First time travelers are not eligible; only strong, experienced candidates will be considered
- No radius restrictions for local candidates except for Howard County General, which requires living beyond 60 miles
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience is required
- BLS certification required
- Intermediate care (IMC) and dysrhythmia management experience is essential
- At least 2 previous travel nurse assignments required
- Experience in facilities with 500+ bed count required
- Preferred qualifications include Critical Care Certification, trauma course completion, EPIC EMR experience, and ACLS
- Experience and understanding of provider-managed pressors and inotropes is preferred
