Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Director of Emergency Management with proven clinical leadership and a current CA RN license.

Responsibilities

• Lead emergency and trauma services in a hospital setting
• Oversee 3 managers and approximately 170 FTEs in the Emergency Department
• Full-time exempt position with 5x8 hour day shifts and 24/7 departmental responsibility
• Weekend work only required as needed; no standard call or holiday shifts
• Responsible for strategic leadership, regulatory compliance, and fostering collaborative care in emergency services
• Oversight of budgeting, staffing, operational efficiency, and performance metrics
• Work closely with the ACNO and collaborate with other directors and managers
• Professional references preferred from recent leadership roles within the last 24 months
• Up to 5 days of requested time off may be considered
• NIH/NIHSS certification can be obtained during onboarding

Requirements

• Active California RN license required at time of consideration
• Current AHA BLS certification and either CEN or CCRN certification required
• MSN or BSN with a Master's in Healthcare Administration required
• Minimum 36 months of overall nursing experience with at least 12 months in ED/trauma services
• Director level experience in an acute care facility required
• Employment history within the last 24 months must be provided
• Driver’s License required for consideration
• Skills checklist specific to emergency, director, leadership, or supervisor roles required
