Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU Night shift position requiring PICU critical care experience and an active NJ or Compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 19-bed Pediatric ICU within a hospital setting
- May float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed based on skill set and hospital needs
- Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30), including every other weekend
- Typical patient ratio is 1:2 or higher, depending on unit needs
- Care involves use of Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry monitoring, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Provide high-acuity nursing care to pediatric patients in the ICU setting
- Must wear navy blue scrubs while on shift
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Background and license must be clear of open or active issues
- Shift includes weekend coverage as scheduled
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
- Minimum of 2 years recent PICU critical care experience and 1 year of documented cardiac experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring required
- Proficiency in BIPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, high flow nasal cannula, and trach care required
- Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Must not have been employed within the RWJBH health system in the past year
