Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position requiring prior travel experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 36-bed telemetry unit serving young adult to geriatric patients
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac interventions such as cardiac surgery, stent placement, and pacemaker implant, as well as stable non-procedural cardiac patients
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Must work every other weekend
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Role involves caring for patients recovering from cardiac procedures and stable cardiac conditions
• No travel pairs or group submissions allowed
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be automatically approved, and no time off is permitted during the first week of orientation

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in telemetry or a similar setting
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous travel nurse experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Candidates residing in specified counties or within 50 miles are not eligible
• Former permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
