Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring ECMO experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) hospital setting
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 to 07:00)
• Average daily census is 7, with 10 total beds and a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity, including cardiac stepdown
• Epic EMR required for charting
• May be required to float to cardiac stepdown and other units with similar or lower acuity
• No travel pairs or groups accepted for this assignment
• Scrub color is dark gray
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be approved; no time off during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• ECMO experience required
• Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience interpreting dysrhythmias, managing intra-aortic balloon pumps, and post-cardiac surgery care required
• Skills in managing pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz and arterial lines, central and PICC line care, sedation, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, ventilator care, and ABG interpretation required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Former permanent staff must be gone at least 1 year before consideration
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius or in specified counties
