Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring a current NY RN license and Epic EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 26-bed Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit within a tertiary care hospital setting
• Adult, acute care patient population with continuous telemetry and pulse-oximetry monitoring
• Patients require specialized care including airway management, BIPAP support, arterial and central line care, and titrated IV infusions
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg assignments
• Shift is 4x12 hours, nights (19:00-07:00), with every other weekend required
• Use of Epic EMR is required
• Responsibilities include caring for patients transferring from the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, ICU, and medical-surgical floors
• Care is provided in a multi-disciplinary team environment focused on evidence-based practice
• Must follow isolation precautions as needed
• Navy and white scrubs are the required dress code
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Holiday coverage expectations apply according to unit needs

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand is required for consideration
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience is required
• Current BLS certification is required
• Experience with Epic EMR is necessary
• Must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and participate in rapid response/code teams
• Ability to perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and non-invasive airway management
• Applicants must reside outside a 75 mile radius from the facility
