Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring LDRP skills, night shifts, and traveler experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit
• Typical patient population includes LDRP and Mother/Baby cases
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4 under couplet care model
• Night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Two mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule are required
• Floating required to assist other units as needed, without taking full assignments
• Uses EPIC for documentation, Pyxis for medication, and SBAR for communication
• Self-scheduling is utilized
• Responsibilities include assisting with sterile speculum exams to assess effacement, dilation, station, and presentation
• Support for breastfeeding and lactation provided to patients
• 32 hours of unit orientation provided
• Required to wear hospital-issued Cecil blue scrubs or navy scrubs
• Candidates must be open to floating to other units
• Must participate in self-scheduling process

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience
• BLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications required
• Prior traveler experience is required
• Experience with EFM, external and internal fetal monitoring, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Ability to provide breastfeeding and lactation support
• EPIC experience preferred
