Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring a compact or NC RN license and at least two years of LDRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a LDRP unit within a hospital setting that is also a stroke center
• Unit consists of 10 LDRP beds, 2 OB rooms, and 2 triage beds, averaging 7 patients per day
• Patient care includes labor, triage, postpartum, and newborn services
• Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:2 inactive labor, 1:1 active labor, 1:3-4 couplets
• 12-hour day shifts from 0700 to 1900, with every other weekend rotation
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• Floating required within Region 3: Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division, and within scope of practice
• Technology includes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, and HUGGS infant security system
• Responsibilities include managing labor, triage, postpartum, circulating cesarean sections, pre-op, PACU, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin and epidural management
• Scrub tech support is provided for deliveries, OR set up, equipment cleaning, and newborn baths
• Charge nurse, OB MD, anesthesia/CRNA, and 24/7 RT support available
• Departmental orientation includes NEO and two days of unit-specific training

• Up to 6 days of requested time off may be approved, excluding holidays

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• At least 2 years of recent LDRP experience required; Postpartum only, L&D or LDRP experience accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM certifications required
• Minimum one professional reference from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge RN dated within a year
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• Must provide last four digits of SSN and full DOB for consideration
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the home unit for eligibility
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least one year after a permanent position
