Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuroscience Tele/Stroke unit position requiring a TX or compact RN license and NIH Stroke Certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in the Neuroscience 2 West Tele/Stroke unit of a hospital
• Care for patients with stroke and neurological conditions requiring telemetry monitoring
• Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract assignment
• Floating to other units may be required according to hospital needs
• Provide specialized nursing care to neurological and stroke patients in a telemetry-monitored setting
• Responsible for monitoring neurological status and performing frequent patient assessments
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the neuroscience unit

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in telemetry or neuroscience specialty
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• Must provide US Social Security Number and Date of Birth for consideration
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
