Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN with 2 years of large Emergency Department experience, a NM or compact RN license, and multiple AHA certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a fast-paced hospital emergency department
- 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, three days per week
- Floating may be required to departments or locations within 20 miles
- Care for diverse emergency patient populations
- Epic EMR experience is preferred but on-site training is available
- Direct patient care includes assessment, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient needs and responses
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to coordinate care
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive staff as needed
- Patient population/age-specific education and competency testing required per unit standards
- No local candidates; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Returning employees must have a one-year break in service to be eligible
- BCA test is administered during orientation; contract will be terminated if not passed after two attempts
Requirements
- Active State of New Mexico or compact RN license required
- Minimum of two years' current experience in a large Emergency Department
- Must have successfully completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS, obtained through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Must pass the onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test with one retest allowed if failed initially
- Epic EMR experience preferred, but not required
