Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Surgical unit position requiring a compact or Oklahoma RN license and current BLS and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a pediatric surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for pediatric patients with a variety of surgical needs, ranging from simple to complex conditions
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 0645 to 1915, three days per week
• No local candidates permitted due to a 50-mile radius requirement
• Primary responsibilities include patient assessment, documentation, medication administration, IV and blood product initiation and monitoring, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor procedures
• Will interact with families regarding care plans and hospital procedures
• Delegates appropriate tasks to support staff
• Must maintain effective teamwork and communication with interdisciplinary staff
• Holiday and weekend coverage requirements may apply based on scheduling needs

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or any multistate compact (eNLC)-eligible state
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from AHA
• Minimum of one year RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Ability to communicate effectively, respond to patients’ cultural and language needs, and utilize computer applications as needed
