Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a pediatric float pool night position requiring an active OK or compact RN license, BLS, and PALS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in the pediatric float pool of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- Float as needed within pediatric units to provide coverage for varied patient populations
- Engage with pediatric patients requiring care ranging from simple to complex cases
- Care for an assigned group of pediatric patients, including administering medications, IVs, and blood products
- Document patient responses and changes accurately and efficiently
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
- Delegate tasks to support staff and ensure effective care coordination with families
- Interact with diverse patient populations and address cultural and language needs
- Float pool nurses must maintain flexibility to meet variable unit needs
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
Requirements
- Active RN license from Oklahoma or a compact state (eNLC) required
- Minimum of one year of pediatric RN experience required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher degree preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills and some computer skills required
