Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a pediatrics float pool position with night shifts and certifications in BLS and PALS required.
Responsibilities
- Work in the hospital pediatrics float pool covering a variety of units
- Care for pediatric patients with medical needs ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule with both holiday and weekend requirements
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered
- Provide comprehensive nursing care and administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed
- Document patient responses, monitor physiological data, and intervene as needed
- Support physicians with patient examinations and minor procedures
- Interact with patients and families to share care plans and provide discharge information
- May delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Holiday coverage is required as part of the contract
- Candidates must be prepared for thorough onboarding and compliance processes
Requirements
- Current RN license issued by Oklahoma or a compact multistate RN license (eNLC) required
- At least one year of recent nursing experience required
- Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association required
- Strong communication and patient care skills required
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services required
- Must be able to respond to varying cultural and language needs
