Description

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring at least 3 years of recent level 3 or 4 neonatal intensive care experience and current BLS and NRP certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in a Level 3/4 NICU setting caring for premature and critically ill infants
Patient assignment ratio is typically 1:2-4
Handles a variety of diagnoses including premature infants (as early as 22 weeks), surgical infants, and hypoxic injury
Special procedures performed include therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide administration, UAC/UVC placement, PCLs, Broviac, tracheostomy care, G-tube, and ostomy care
Utilizes Tecotherm, BCPAP, Ram NC, Alaris IV pumps, Med Fusion, Servo vents, HFOV, Baby Leo, and Giraffe equipment
Electronic systems used include Pyxis, Epic, SBAR, and 4P
12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, with 36 hours per week
Self-scheduling is used to accommodate unit needs
No on-call required
Weekend requirement includes 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period
Floating required to Peds, PICU, and nursery for infants up to 12 months
First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
Unit orientation includes 24 hours of training
Navy blue or white scrubs are required
RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract
RTO after booking is not allowed and additional call-offs may result in contract cancellation
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

Active NC or compact RN license
Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a Level 3 or 4 NICU/ICN
Current BLS and NRP certifications
Ventilator experience is required
Experience with Epic EMR preferred
