Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring a MO or compact license and recent specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a community hospital setting on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Responsible for post-cath patients and telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Night shifts, 3x12s, 18:45–07:15
• Requires 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (includes Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required
• Use of Epic charting system
• Navy scrubs required
• Provide direct patient care for post-cath and telemetry patients
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required as needed by the unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Requests for time off are limited to 7 days maximum
• Drug screening must be passed; candidates with unresolvable positive or diluted results must wait 6 months before reapplying
• Pre-arrival and annual modules are required
• Free parking is available
• No travel partners accepted

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license in hand; both Kansas and Missouri or compact licenses required for floating
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry specialty experience required
• At least 1 year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the last year
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Telemetry skills required, including on-unit monitoring
• 2 professional references from the past year; at least one must be supervisor-level or above, the other may be a charge RN
• No pending license status accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from facility
