Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in New York, requiring an active NY RN license and experience with cardiac monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Work in a tertiary care hospital on a 26-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient population includes post-PCI, pacemaker, AICD, post-MI, and those requiring cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Day shift schedule of 4x12 hours (7:00-19:00) with every other weekend required
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
• Utilizes Epic EMR
• Cardiac monitoring and management of dysrhythmias are core aspects of care
• Key responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response and code teams, and peripheral IV therapy and management
• Care activities include respiratory interventions such as non-invasive airway management and use of oxygen delivery devices
• Must adhere to isolation precautions and infection control measures
• Scrub colors include any combination of navy and white
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand required
• Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
