Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with large teaching hospital experience and recent Epic and trauma certifications for a rotating shift assignment.

Responsibilities

Work in the Emergency Department of a large, teaching hospital setting
Patient population includes all ages and acuity levels typical of a busy ED
Performs specialized trauma and emergency care procedures
Utilizes Epic EMR; experience within the past 2 years is required
12-hour rotating day and night shifts, must be flexible with schedule
Required to work at least every other weekend
No block schedules available
Must be prepared for bi-weekly Monday orientation; next available on 4/06
Reliable personal or rental transportation is required as public transportation is not available and winter driving conditions are expected from November through April
All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
Required to provide complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type for consideration
First time travelers may be considered if meeting large teaching hospital and multiple ED criteria
May be required to work Mondays through Sundays without block scheduling

Requirements

Active VT or compact RN license, or ability to obtain upon commit
Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience
Experience in large (500+ bed) teaching hospitals required
Prior travel experience strongly preferred; may be waived for those with significant large teaching hospital and multiple ED experience
Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (TNCC and NIHSS required prior to start)
Epic EMR experience within the last 2 years required
