Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with day shifts, requiring a NY RN license and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the MS/Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Care for adult patients with diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule out
• Patient ratios are 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, and 1:8 on weekends
• Day shift schedule is 7:30am to 7:30pm, working three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Requires use of Epic EMR
• Responsible for managing complex medical and telemetry patients and responding to rapid response and code situations
• Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to manage patient care plans
• Proficiency in isolation precautions and respiratory interventions is expected
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at the time of application
• Minimum of 1 year current Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must be skilled in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
