Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN with at least 2 years of recent cath lab and large hospital experience, valid ND or compact RN license, and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

Position is in a hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab within an acute Level 1 trauma setting
Cares for patients requiring cardiac cath with intervention, device implants, peripheral vascular, stroke, structural heart, STEMI, and stroke-related procedures
Seven cath labs with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 during procedures
Uses EPIC (One Chart), CUPID, GE MAC LAB, EKOS, balloon pumps, IMPELLA, Angiovac, FFR, and IVUS equipment
Schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:30pm
On-call required every 2-3 weekends and one night per week, as part of a 4-person call team plus MD
No floating to other departments is required
Provide comprehensive nursing care and assessments for all cath lab patients
Competent in conscious sedation and cardiac emergencies
Scrub color is provided Ceil Blue
All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
Must not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility; reduced pay applies for those within 60-80 miles
Returning employees must not have worked for the system in the previous 6 months
Part of a collaborative 4-person call team with physician support

Requirements

Active ND or compact RN license required
Minimum of 2 years of recent cath lab experience required
Large hospital experience at a Level 2 trauma center or higher required
Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory
Experience administering conscious sedation and utilizing advanced cardiac equipment
Critical care experience in ICU or ED preferred
Must have experience with EPIC charting system
