Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring an active IL license, with dayshift and open heart experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Handles post-PCI, post-bypass, and CHF patient populations
• Functions in a Level 2 trauma center
• 12-hour day shifts are available
• Uses Allscripts for electronic charting
• Interpret telemetry strips using Draeger monitors
• Drip titration is required
• CRRT experience is highly preferred
• Assigned respiratory therapist available in ICU 24/7
• Work in a team environment with 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage including nurse practitioners
• Required to interpret own cardiac strips while monitor technician is present
• All respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP available
• Specific dress code or scrub requirements not specified
• This position is open to experienced travelers

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Level 2 trauma experience or above is required
• Experience with pulling sheaths is preferred
• Open heart and CRRT experience is highly preferred
