Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) night shift position requiring an active IL RN license and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position based in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit within an acute care, Level 2 trauma setting
• Primary patient population includes post PCI, post-bypass, and CHF cases
• 12-hour night shifts are required
• 13-week assignment
• Use of Allscripts EMR charting system
• 24/7 hospitalist/intensivist and respiratory therapy coverage available in the ICU
• Draeger telemetry monitors are used with RNs required to interpret strips
• Care involves use of respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPap
• Tele monitor tech on the unit monitors telemetry
• Responsibilities include assessment, monitoring, and management of cardiovascular ICU patients
• Night shift position only
• Must interpret telemetry strips as part of routine duties
• Supportive team environment with 24/7 in-house medical staff and RTs
• No BSN required for this role

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Level 2 trauma experience or higher is required
• Experience in titrating drips is required
• Open heart and sheath-pulling experience preferred
• CRRT experience highly preferred
