Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of acute care experience and required ARRT and BLS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital radiology setting with Level II trauma designation
- Shift runs 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, Wednesday evening through Saturday morning
- Covers ER and inpatient x-ray cases; no surgery or call required on this shift
- Department includes 2 fixed ED rooms, 1 fixed department room, 5 portable x-ray units, 1 fluoro, 1 C-arm for video swallow, 5 surgical C-arms, cysto fluoro table, and hybrid OR vascular unit
- Average daily volume of 100-150 plain films and 10-15 OR cases
- Uses Carestream, Siemens, and GE OEC imaging equipment
- Allscripts (BAR) EMR and Scimage PICOM PACS system are used
- Duties include performing diagnostic x-ray exams in ER, inpatient, and OR settings as dictated by experience and comfort
- Radiology supervisor on site; in-house radiologist coverage Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Will be expected to precept radiology students in the department
- Department does not require starting IVs
- Block scheduling with some flexibility; travelers expected to help cover holidays
- Scrub color is light grey; surgical scrubs permitted for OR coverage but scrubs are not provided
- Orientation occurs during scheduled shifts
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute care radiology experience required
- Current ARRT certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- Strong experience with portable x-ray exams is required
- Must have OR experience
- Familiarity with Carestream, Siemens, and GE OEC equipment preferred
- Experience with Allscripts (BAR) EMR and PACS systems is preferred
- License required if applicable
