Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN with renal experience for day shifts, requiring an active SC or compact RN license and current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit with a renal focus in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient assignment ratios are 1:6-7
• Three 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed according to facility requirements
• Epic charting system is used
• Expected to provide comprehensive care to a diverse Med/Surg and renal patient population
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Modules must be completed prior to starting the assignment
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Free parking is available on site
• Employees and travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, especially June–November
• Time off (RTO) must be requested at the time of application and approval will depend on facility needs

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license must be in hand before the start date
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Proof of valid driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Returning RN travelers must not have worked as a permanent or PRN staff member within the past year at this health system
