Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with 2 years of critical care experience and BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications for day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work in a mixed Medical/Surgical/Neuro/Cardiac ICU within a level 3 trauma center
• Patient ratio is typically 1:2-3 based on acuity
• Patient population includes DKA, ARDs, sepsis, COVID, open abdomen, thoracotomies, CVA, craniotomies, and post-op cardiac cases
• Travelers will not care for CRRT, impella, balloon pumps, or ECMO
• Charting is done using Epic with BD Alaris IV Pumps and Pyxis for medication dispensing
• 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend required
• Floating required to Respiratory Unit, Surgical, Tele, PCU, or ED as Helping Hands
• Responsibilities include managing critically ill adult patients and monitoring invasive lines
• Professional scrubs of any color are required
• Must participate in every other weekend coverage
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Assignments may include helping hands to multiple units as needed

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, hypothermia protocol, chest tubes, drains, and invasive line monitoring (a-lines, CVP)
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience strongly preferred
